Simon
Starting York IT Services in September 2001 was one of the biggest challenges Simon has ever had. With £50 in his pocket, a second hand computer, brand new printer and a free shared office in the return of free IT Support it was not going to be easy.
By the end of year one, the business was supporting over 30 businesses within York and East Yorkshire, and expansion was required. The start of searching for business premises began, and by the end of the second year of business the shop on Hull Road was opened.
From an early age Simon has always had a strong interest in computers, spending 2 weeks at Nestle Rowntree IT Support department decided that was the career path Simon wanted to follow. Starting an Advanced IT Course at York College in 1996 and fixing friends and family's computers on an evening confirmed that IT support was the definite career. Following college Simon has gained experience at Nestle, City of York Council, Railtrack & another local IT Support business giving him the perfect platform for forming York IT Services.
